This is Corinne Puchalla's second season as Principal Bassoonist with the Tampa Bay Symphony. She earned her Bachelor's of Music in bassoon performance from the University of Iowa in 2001, studying with Benjamin Coelho and Richard Lottridge and continued her studies at Indiana University earning a Master's of Music in bassoon performance, where she was honored to serve as Assistant Instructor of bassoon to Professor Kim Walker. While in Indiana, she performed with the Camerata Orchestra, the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, and the Lafayette Symphony. She has also performed as Principal Bassoonist in the San Angelo Symphony, the Big Spring Orchestra, The Midland-Odessa Symphony and the West Texas Wind Quintet. Corinne has held adjunct positions at Midland College and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. As a sponsored Püchner Artist, Corinne traveled with the Beautiful Bloomington Bassoon Quartet for a performance at the 33rd Annual Double Reed Society Conference held in Melbourne, Australia. Corinne is currently working in her second season with The Florida Orchestra where she works as Personnel Manager. In her spare time, she enjoys many culinary pursuits, knitting, boxing, playing scrabble and dominoes, and cuddling with her puppy, Casper, and kitty, Colombo. |
