Concertmaster of the Tampa Bay Symphony since 1987. 

Halina comes from a musical family where the mother played piano, and father was a professional string bass player and a fine choir director. 

She started violin lessons at 9 in Paris, France. At 10 was admitted to the prestigious Paris Conservatory, becoming its second youngest student. When the family immigrated to Canada, studies continued at the Toronto Conservatory, and later at the Faculty of Music of the University of Toronto, with private lessons in New York. 

Solo experience:  Performed very many recitals, concerts, and tours for the Ontario Board of Education. Also appeared as a soloist with St. Catharines, Hamilton, and Toronto symphonies. 

Orchestral experience: Following in her father's footsteps, joined the Toronto Symphony under Walter Susskind, and later Seiji Ozawa. After 8 years left Canada to become a member of The Cleveland Orcherstra under George Szell. 

Other profession: Halina is a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science degree , and many years of work in intensive care units. 

Present: Retired from nursing, freelances as a musician in the Tampa Bay area. Enjoys performing violin and piano programs of short encore pieces, playing string quartets, and making music arrangements for small string ensembles.
