Maribeth Scurry
Viola

Maribeth Scurry has been a member of the orchestra for approximately five years.  She currently holds the position of principal second violinist. She has also played in the viola section.

Maribeth's first career was that of an instrumental music teacher in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. While in Harrisburg, she directed two senior high orchestras in the Central Dauphin School District.  She performed with the Harrisburg Symphony, a regional orchestra, for ten years. She also played French horn with the Harrisburg City Band for a number of years.

She holds a B. S. in Music Education from West Chester University in PA. She also holds a Masters in Education with a concentration in instructional technology from the University of South Florida.  She is employed as an instructional designer at AAA Auto Club South designing internal web-based and classroom training.

Maribeth is a volunteer with Junior Achievement and a member of the Possibility Speakers Toastmasters Club at AAA Auto Club South were she was formally Vice President of Education.

Maribeth loves to cycle, roller blade, and go to the gym. She is a rescue diver who loves adventure.  She lives in Carrollwood with her toy poodle, Kiri Lynn who was named after Kiri Te Kanawa the New Zealand lyric soprano.

Maribeth loves performing with the orchestra. She also performs in various community theatre orchestras, churches, and for weddings.
