Robert Fleitz
2009 Young Artist Competition Winner
Piano

Robert Fleitz is a 16-year old sophomore at the Harrison School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Lakeland, Florida.  He began his piano studies at the age of 4 with his father, and is currently studying with Ching-Wen Hsiao, a concert artist completing her Doctoral degree at the Juilliard School.

Robert has been successful in several competitions.  In 2005, Robert took first place in the Junior Piano category of the Florida Orchestra Young Artist Competition.  Last year, Robert came in first place in the piano category of the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park Young Artist Competition.

In the summer of 2008, Robert was accepted to the prestigious Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine and studied privately with Julian Martin of the Juilliard School.  This summer, Robert hopes to attend either the Bowdoin or Aspen festival.

Robert is also an accomplished cellist, having played with the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra in Orlando and the Imperial Symphony Orchestra in Lakeland.

Robert is the son of Patrick and Teresa Fleitz of Lakeland.
